Share your photos of UCalgary for the Show Us Your Campus contest
Calling all shutterbugs — the Show Us Your Campus contest is making recognition all about light, colour and composition this spring. The contest calls for photo submissions taken on, of or from any UCalgary location. Winning photos will be made into new recognition print cards and eNotes and used to celebrate milestones, accomplishments and camaraderie for years to come.
Iryna Leonova, recognition adviser in Human Resources, says the contest is a fun way to engage the university community in the card design process.
“We’re hoping to tap into the creativity of our employees and get a glimpse of what UCalgary looks like from the unique perspectives of individual employees,” she says. “With submissions from different campuses and vantage points, we will be able to add to the diversity and interest of our card designs.”
The university-branded recognition cards and eNotes are available to employees at every level of the organization to commend or say thanks to colleagues — over 1,500 employees receive an eNote each year. The card collection was last updated in 2017, but the classic design holds up — the current collection will still be available after the new suite of cards rolls out.
The new suite of recognition cards will be available to send starting fall 2019, but the Show Us Your Campus contest winners and their photos will be announced at the Recognition Award Ceremony on May 21 and in UToday.

Quick tips for winning entries
- No identifiable people: Sure, it’s the people who make UCalgary an amazing place to work and learn, but for the sake of their privacy, leave them out of your submitted shots.
- High-resolution photos only (minimum 2,000 pixels): Printed cards need print-quality pics. Most smart phones and digital cameras will make photos with ample resolution — just be cautious if you crop your image.
- Be creative: We want it all — architecture, sunsets, wildlife, high-fives, offices, laboratories, theatres, studios and everything in between!
- Be original: Submissions must be original work created by the entrant.
