The Chinese Bridge Speech Competition was initiated by Hanban (Office of Chinese Language Council International) and has become an annual event for university students in various districts of the world, including Alberta.
This is an exciting and valuable opportunity for students to learn Chinese language and culture and showcase their achievements in Chinese language learning. As Helen Dang, a participant of the competition said, “I am so excited. I went to the competition and had a wonderful experience. Each participant’s speech motivated me to learn more about the history, culture, and tradition of China”.
Congratulations to the participants for their outstanding performances! A big thank you to all the Chinese professors who had helped their students prepare for the competition (Wei Cai, Jie Luo, Shu-ning Sciban, Yu-Kun Yang and Xueqin Wu). Special thanks are due to Professor E-mei Wang, who led the whole group to the competition site and provided additional on-site coaching to ensure the students gave their best performance.
