Background and research interests
Greg Hagen is an associate professor in the Faculty of Law. He previously served as Associate Dean (Research) and Graduate Program Director in the Faculty of Law. He earned an LL.B from Dalhousie University and an LL.M. (concentration in technology law) from the University of Ottawa. Prior to that, he completed his Ph.D. in the philosophy of science at the University of Western Ontario. Greg was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1999, following which he practiced in the areas of corporate, securities, technology law at two Canadian national law firms.
His research interests include Intellectual property and technology law, internet law, biotechnology law, information security and privacy law, biosecurity law, smart contracts, law of DAOs, encryption law, and legal philosophy and theory.
